UPDATE: A Delicate Balance: the Kingdom

G'Day.  This piece has been kicking around for years now and even though I saw it as complete, I am so happy that I give the colour on this one an update.  I had no intentions to do so but when COVID hit and I decided to produce jigsaw puzzles with my artwork I know this needed an refresh because large areas of solid colours do not make

UPDATE: David Bowie: Ziggy Stardust on Mars

When I decided to release puzzles, I looked at this Bowie illustration and knew it needed an update and that I could improve upon the original.  I didn't spend much time, but the improvements are huge.  I changed the composition by shifting Bowie up, and the new background is much crisper and surreal looking.  I added a bit more detail to the suit, extended the torso and improved

King of the Dead: The Lord and Keeper of the Underworld, His Majesty: the Taker and Giver

After sitting on this one for 4 or 5 months I decided to give a crack at colouring this, as it has been a while since I have coloured anything digitally.  The colour scheme I used is a bit different then my usual palette as it is a bit more muted and earthy.  I thought at first the colours I had chosen would be to complicated and make

My Artwork in ImagineFX: Issue 166: Exposé

I have been a huge fan of ImagineFX magazine, a digital and tradition magazine that specialises in fantasy, science fiction, and conceptual art, for years, and have spent countless hours reading through the articles featuring different international artists giving insight into their working process while providing numerous tutorials that show into the steps undertaken when creating a specific piece of art. King of the Dead Ink Drawing

King of the Dead.  Drawn on 9 x 12 inch watercolour paper with Micron 0.5mm pens.  This is the cumulation of about 40- 50 hours of line drawing, crosshatching, and stippling.  This piece is the most detailed ink drawing I have ever untaken and a progression in different techniques which I feel I am starting to master.  This is a representation of the King of the Dead is

Limited Edition A Delicate Balance Prints for Sale: Colour and Black & White Versions

After years of pondering, a few failed launches due to lack of skill in dealing with the complexity of these pieces, I began to undertake colouring the Delicate Balance series.  Over the last 6 months I have coloured three of the original ink drawings digitally, using Photoshop.  I have learned a lot from colouring these and they are responsible for an incredible increase in my speed and knowledge
