Last month I collaborated with Warrborn, a Vancouver metal band, on the artwork for their first full length album. It has been a few years since I have undertaken full album art for a band, so it was cool to get to do something a little bloodier and gorier. King of the Dead. Drawn on 9 x 12 inch watercolour paper with Micron 0.5mm pens. This is the cumulation of about 40- 50 hours of line drawing, crosshatching, and stippling. After years of pondering, a few failed launches due to lack of skill in dealing with the complexity of these pieces, I began to undertake colouring the Delicate Balance series. Over the last 6 months I have coloured three of the original ink drawings digitally, using Photoshop. I have learned a lot from colouring these and they are responsible for an incredible increase in my speed and knowledge
